The Magna Charta Observatory enters into a MOU with Academics Without Borders
The Magna Charta Observatory is pleased to announce that it has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Canadian-based global organisation, Academics Without Borders. The purpose of the agreement is to facilitate the sharing and communication of publications, projects or events organised by both organisations.
Academics Without Borders' mission is to help people in the developing world achieve their aspirations through higher education because education is the key to an equitable, prosperous and sustainable world. Academics Without Borders links postsecondary faculty and professionals willing to volunteer their time to projects that originate in and are identified by low- and middle-income regions of the world, aimed at improving the quality and capacity of higher education institutions. The Magna Charta Observatory is an international organisation dedicated to promoting and defending academic freedom and institutional autonomy in higher education. It was founded in Bologna, Italy in 2000 and serves as a platform for exchange and cooperation between universities and other higher education institutions worldwide. The organisation works to protect and advance these values through a variety of activities, including monitoring and reporting on developments related to academic freedom and institutional autonomy, engaging in advocacy and policy work, and providing support and resources to higher education institutions.
