The Magna Charta Observatory collaborated with the European University Association to deliver a webinar under the title 'European Universities 2030: Vision and Values.

Held on 25 March, it attracted registrations from 76 different countries and over 600 actually participated in the event.

Michael Murphy, President of EUA, introduced the EUA Report under the title  ‘Universities without walls – Living our values’ (that you can read here: https://www.eua.eu/downloads/publications/universities%20without%20walls%20%20a%20vision%20for%202030.pdf)

Sijbolt Noorda, President of the Governing Council of the MCO, introduced the new Magna Charta Universitatum MCU 2020 in his presentation 'Academic Freedom, Autonomy and Responsibility: none can live without the other'.

Then followed two perspectives from universities in different parts of Europe.

Marcin Palys from the University of Warsaw spoke on 'Bringing together academic freedom, institutional autonomy and the public role of universities: observation from Poland'.

Astrid Söderbergh Widding, President of Stokholm University, spoke on 'Fundamental research, societal challenges: balancing academic freedom in Sweden.
